Referrals and promo codes

Half fees for you and your friends

Every artist on Maelo has a referral code. Share it with up to five other artists. When one of them joins with your code, they pay Maelo 2.5% instead of 5% for their first year, and so do you.

Find your code and link in Account, Refer an Artist. Tap Copy link or Share and send it however you like.

• Your code works for five artists. The page shows how many you have used.
• Each new artist who joins restarts your year, so the more you invite, the longer you stay on half fees.
• When the year ends you go back to the standard fee on your own. Nothing to cancel.

Joining with a referral code

Open the link another artist sent you and sign up as normal. The code is applied for you. If you were given the code instead, tap Have a promo or referral code? on the last step of sign up and type it in.

Joined in the last 30 days and forgot the code? Enter it in Account, Promo Code instead.

Promo codes from Maelo

Promo codes come from Maelo, at an event or in an email. Enter one in Account, Promo Code and tap Check. Maelo shows what the code gives you and how long it lasts before anything changes. Tap Apply to use it.

If a code cannot be used, Maelo tells you why: it is not valid, it has expired, it has hit its limit, you have used it before, or you are already on another offer.

What it changes, and when it ends

Promo codes and referrals change Maelo's own fee on deposits. Card processing is Stripe's and is charged either way. On the end date you go back to standard pricing on your own.
