Questions

Is there a monthly subscription?
No. Maelo has no monthly subscription or setup fee. Maelo charges 5% of each deposit. Stripe charges separately for processing card payments.
Why only on deposits?
The deposit is the moment a request becomes a booking, so that is where our 5% sits. Final payments, quick sales and Tap to Pay carry no Maelo fee. Final payments taken with cash, bank transfer, Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, Interac, Wise, Revolut or Bizum have no fees at all.
What does Stripe charge?
Stripe charges its own processing fee on card payments only. The rate depends on your account country, payment method and card. International cards, premium cards or currency conversion can add costs that the estimate does not cover. Those differences come out of your payout. See how the estimate works.
Who pays the fees, me or my client?
You choose any client share from 0% to 100% in steps of 5. At 0%, you absorb the fees and the client pays your listed deposit. At 100%, the price includes Maelo's 5% plus estimated standard Stripe processing. Pick 50%, or any setting in between, to share the cost. Maelo's fee remains 5% of your listed deposit at every setting. The client sees the total price before paying.
