Connecting Claude and ChatGPT

What it does

You can connect Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant to your Maelo account and ask it about your bookings in plain words. It reads your own Maelo data, and only yours, while you chat with it.

• What new requests came in this week?
• Is next Thursday afternoon free for a three hour session?
• Summarise my conversation with Jess and draft a reply.
• Which clients have I not answered yet?

There is no API key to copy. The assistant asks you to sign in to Maelo, you choose what it may do, and you can cut it off at any time.

Connect Claude

   Step 1: Find Maelo in Claude

   Open Maelo in Claude's connector directory and choose Connect. You can also find it yourself: in Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, and search for Maelo.

   Step 2: Sign in to Maelo

   Claude opens a Maelo sign-in window. Use your usual Maelo email and password.

   Step 3: Choose Allow

   Maelo shows what the assistant is asking for. Allow it, and you are back in Claude with Maelo turned on.

Connect ChatGPT

In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Apps (or Connectors), and search for Maelo. If it is not listed yet, add a custom app with https://maelo.app/api/mcp. Custom apps need a paid ChatGPT plan with developer mode on. Then sign in to Maelo and choose Allow, the same as Claude.

Other assistants that support MCP connectors work the same way with that address.

What it can see and do

When you allow read access, the assistant can look up:

• your studio name, booking link, timezone and weekly hours
• your booking requests and the messages on them
• your upcoming appointments
• whether a date and time is free, checked against your real availability
• your clients

If you also allow replies, it can send a message to a client on a request (it arrives in their Client Hub and by email) and add a private note to a request. It shows you the wording and asks before it sends anything.

It cannot take payments, issue refunds, change your prices or settings, cancel or move appointments, or delete anything.

Instagram DMs

If you connected Instagram, your assistant does not see your DMs unless you switch it on. Go to Settings, Integrations, Instagram and turn on Let AI assistants read and reply to your Instagram DMs.

Disconnecting and privacy

Every connected assistant is listed in Settings, Integrations, AI Assistants. Press Disconnect and it loses access. Anything it is already doing stops within the hour.

Maelo sends the assistant only what it asks for while you are chatting, and only from your account. What happens to that text inside Claude or ChatGPT is covered by their own privacy terms. Our privacy policy covers everything on the Maelo side.
