Embedding on your own website

If you already have a website, you do not have to send clients away from it to book. Maelo gives you a short piece of code that drops your booking form straight into one of your own pages, so it looks like part of your site while still feeding your requests inbox.

   Open the three dots menu

   In the page editor, open the three dots menu at the top right.

   Choose Add to your website

   The code is written out for you, with a live preview of exactly what your visitors will see.

   Copy it

   Press Copy snippet, then paste it into your own site.

The snippet goes anywhere your site builder accepts HTML. In practice that means a code block, an embed block or a custom HTML section. It works on Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, WordPress and any site you built yourself.

Add the block where you want the form to appear, paste, and save. Most builders will not show the form inside the editor itself, so check the published page rather than the preview if it looks empty at first.

Preview & options opens the fuller version. It shows Hide navigation bar, which is on by default and is almost always what you want: your Maelo menu inside your own site would give visitors two sets of navigation pointing at different places.

Underneath is a live Preview of the form exactly as your visitors will see it. Change the toggle and the preview and the code both update, so you can settle it before pasting anything.

The snippet is two parts: the form itself, and a short script that keeps the frame the right height as the form grows and shrinks. That matters because a booking form changes size as people upload photos or pick dates.

Some site builders strip scripts out on cheaper plans. If yours does, the form still works: it just holds a fixed height, which may leave some blank space underneath. Paste the whole snippet and let the script run if your plan allows it.

If code is more trouble than it is worth, use the Link tab in Preview & options. It gives you the plain address of your booking page, which you can put behind a button on your site, in an email, or in a message.

The address is maelo.app/@yourname/booking. The @ is required and the page is booking, not book, so copy it rather than typing it. See publishing and sharing your page.

An embedded form is only as good as the form inside it, so it is worth a quick check before you point traffic at it.
