Your site, without a web designer
The page editor is where you build the pages clients actually land on: your home page, your flash gallery, and the booking form they fill in. Everything you build here goes live at your own link, and it is the same link whether someone taps it from your Instagram bio or a friend forwards it to them.
You do not need a domain, a hosting account or a theme. You drag the parts you want onto the page, edit them in place, and press Publish. What you see while you are building is what a client gets.
Picking your pages
The first time you open the editor you get Set up your pages. It asks one question: what do you need? Booking page is always included, because that is the part that brings work in. Website adds a home page with hero, portfolio and contact sections, and Flash gallery adds a page that shows your available designs.
Nothing you pick here is permanent. You can add a page later from the plus button beside the page tabs, and delete any page except your booking one. To see the setup prompt again, press Set up pages at the bottom of the Public Pages list.
Preview Mode and Edit Mode
The editor opens in Preview Mode, which is exactly what a client sees. Switch to Edit Mode with the toggle at the top left and the building tools appear around the page.
On a computer you get three areas. Components on the left is everything you can add, with Layers underneath showing what is already on the page in order. The middle is your live page: click anything on it to select it. The right panel holds the settings for whatever you have selected, and when nothing is selected it becomes the page's own fonts and background.
Undo and redo sit at the top left. In Preview Mode, the small arrow beside the label lets you check the page at Desktop, Tablet or Mobile width, which is worth doing before you publish. Most of your clients are on a phone.
Drafts and publishing
Your edits save themselves as you work, but they save as a draft. Nothing reaches a client until you press Publish. That is deliberate: you can leave a half-finished idea on the page overnight without a client walking into it.
Publish writes every page at once, so you do not have to remember which ones you touched. Once a page is out there and matches what you are looking at, the button becomes a green Live badge. Hover it to see when you last published.
If you try to leave the editor with unpublished work, Maelo stops you and names the pages involved. You can choose Publish & leave, Keep editing or Leave anyway. Leaving anyway keeps your draft safe, it just does not push it live.
Building on your phone
The editor works on a phone, with the side panels replaced by floating buttons at the bottom. Add Component opens the block library, and the swatch button beside it opens the page's fonts and background. Tap a block on the page and an Edit button joins them holding that block's settings.
Page tabs, publishing and the three dots menu all work the same. Press and hold a page tab to rename it, change its address, open it or delete it.
